அப்போது, இறுதிப் போரின் போது அப்பாவி பொதுமக்கள் கொல்லப்படவில்லை. போர்க் குற்றம் தொடர்பான எந்த ஒரு கேள்விக்கும் சந்தேகத்துக்கும் பதிலளிக்க தாம் தயாராக இருக்கிறேன் என்றார்.

Former Sri Lankan army chief Sarath Fonseka, who led his troops to victory over the LTTE three years ago, today denied accusations that war crimes had been committed in the final battle. "If we fight shy in answering these questions then they may think we are guilty" Fonseka said dismissing allegations by international agencies including UN that 40,000 civilians had been killed. "I don't agree with that, that is nonsense", he said.
