தமிழ்நாடு செய்தித்தாள் நிறுவன பொது மேலாளர் ஜோசப் ஜெயராஜ். 50 வயதான இவர் சென்னை வேளச்சேரியில் வசித்து வந்தார். இவர் தனது குடும்பத்தினருடன் நேற்று வேளாங்கண்ணி சென்று கொண்டிருந்தார்.
அப்போது சீர்காழி அருகே சூரக்குடி என்ற இடத்தில் இவர்களது கார் வந்தபோது எதிரா வந்த டூரிஸ்ட் பஸ்ஸுடன் மோதிக் கொண்டது. இதில், ஜெயராஜ், அவரது பத்து வயது மகன் ஜோவித், 14 வயது மகள் ஜெனிட்டா, காரை ஓட்டி வந்த 40 வயதான மரியோ, அவரது மகள் ஹரிதா ஆகியோர் சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே பலியானார்கள்.
மரியோவின் மனைவி மஞ்சு, ஜெயராஜின் மனைவி குளோரி ஆகியோர் படுகாயமடைந்தனர். காயமடைந்த இருவரும் கடலூர் அரசு மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டனர்.
Five persons, including a woman and two children, all hailing from Velachery in Chennai, were killed on the spot and two injured when their car collided head-on with a tourist bus near Sirkazhi yesterday evening. Seven persons, including the family of TNPL General Manager Joseph Jayaraj (50) of Velachery, were proceeding in a car to Vailankanni when the mishap occurred. Mario (40) of Vailacheri, working as manager in a private company in Hyderabad, was driving the car. The car was passing through Soorakkudi near Sirkazhi when it collided head-on with the bus at Soorkakkudi near Sirkazhi. In the mishap, Jayaraj, his 10-year-old son Jovid and 14-year-old daughter Jenita, Mario and his daughter Haritha died on the spot while Jayaraj’s wife Glory (45) and Mario’s wife Manju were grievously injured.
